LangSEO.ai ("we", "our", or "us") operates the LangSEO Shopify app. This Privacy Policy explains what store data we access, how we use it to provide translation features, and how we protect that data when you install and use the app.
Information We Collect
When you install LangSEO, we access limited store data through Shopify APIs so the app can load content, generate translations, and save your settings:
- Store information — your store name, domain, and primary locale settings
- Store content you choose to process — such as product titles and descriptions, collections, pages, blog content, navigation, policies, metafields, and supported theme-related content
- Translation data — existing translations and translatable content retrieved through Shopify's GraphQL Admin API
We do not collect customer payment details, customer personal information, or order data for the purpose of providing LangSEO's translation service.
How We Use Your Information
We use this information only to operate LangSEO and deliver the features you use:
- AI translation — store content is sent to OpenAI's API to generate translations only when you start a translation job or use a related AI feature.
- Translation delivery and history — translated content is written back to your Shopify store through Shopify's translation APIs, and we store job history and logs so you can review progress and previous work.
- Settings and glossary rules — glossary rules, model preferences, and content scope settings are stored so the app can provide more consistent results.
Third-Party Services
We rely on the following service providers to operate LangSEO:
- OpenAI API — used to generate AI-powered translations. Relevant store content is sent to OpenAI only when required for translation features. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used for model training.
- Google Cloud Translation API — used only in our translation quality comparison feature to generate baseline machine translations for side-by-side review.
- Shopify API — used to read store content, read available translations, and write translations back to your Shopify store.
- Fly.io — used to host our application infrastructure and store app data.
Data Storage & Security
- Translation job history and app settings are stored in a secure application database.
- Your Shopify access token is stored securely and used only to communicate with Shopify on your behalf.
- Data is transmitted over HTTPS.
- We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it beyond the providers and use cases described in this policy.
Data Retention
- Translation job logs and app settings are retained while the app remains installed on your store.
- When you uninstall the app, Shopify revokes the app's access token. You may also contact us to request deletion of any remaining app data.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about your store
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent by uninstalling the app
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after any update means you accept the revised policy.
